An Ayurvedic Adventure in the Kitchen (Audio)

This special show includes: -A cooking audio of the classic Ayurvedic beverage, golden milk! -The chakras, including the manipura/solar plexus -Ghee, its history and uses Golden Milk 2 tb. coconut milk powder 1 tb. gelatin, bloomed in 1/4 cup of water 1 tb. collagen 1 tea. maple sugar pinch Celtic sea salt 1/2 tea. medicinal mushroom (cordyceps, reishi or lion’s mane) 1/4 tea. astragalus, optional 2 cups hot, filtered water 2 tea. turmeric ghee (I like Pure Indian Foods brand) cardamon, to garnish Combine the dry ingredients in a blender.  Add the water, then the turmeric ghee.  Buzz for 30 seconds until blended.  Pour into mug and garnish with cardamom.  Enjoy!

Seaweed, Cannibalism and the Color Purple

A connection between seaweed, cannibalism and purple may seem farfetched, but read on to find out more. When most of us think of seaweed (or sea vegetables), we usually think of Asia. Few realize that our people; those who hail from the United Kingdom – Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England also have a rich history of eating seaweed as well as using it in therapeutic bath treatments. Seaweed Groups Seaweeds can be grouped into three types based on color: green, red or brown. They all contain the light absorbing pigment chlorophyll, which is necessary for photosynthesis. Brown and red seaweeds have additional pigments that enable them to photosynthesize at depths where little light penetrates. These extra pigments mask the green color of chlorophyll. Brown seaweeds can be yellow brown to dark olive. Red seaweeds have the greatest range of tone: pink purple, red, and brown to nearly black.
